We are so thrilled to announce our line of t-shirts on http://www.zazzle.com/elephanttheater
This line was so generously designed by the one and only Otis Porritt. I met Otis via his wife, my high school friend Susan Hurley. Beyond this fantastic e-commerce site, Otis and Susan have been generous sponsors of our most recent tour, The Pirate & the Squid.
Otis has been designing t-shirts since the ‘80s, when he’d crafted the shirts for his own band. I asked Otis a few questions out of curiosity, and was so impressed with the answers (and images) I couldn’t wait to share them:
Which other sites have you designed for charity, and what about those charities made you want to help?
The last thing I did was for the Australian Fire Relief. I designed merchandise for a Sioux hospital they were trying to build. I also donated a piece for Darfur Awareness which they widely use, and sell the poster on their Peace site.
Did having children of your own in any way make you want to support our mission?
Yes, my son CJ was in the hospital last year for brain surgery, and when I was in high school I was in the hospital for two weeks with some really sick kids. It was a life altering.
What are some other examples of your work (for those of us already impressed)?
I’ve designed a lot of things over the years from political to corporate to musicians to tribes to funny, etc.
How could someone reach you if they wanted to enlist your services?
I take most freelance work. To contact me just email me at: griffinpassant@searchtheweb.com
